Vera’s experts conduct research and analysis and develop policies and programs in a variety of criminal and social justice fields. Their varied knowledge, background, and experience enable Vera to address the full spectrum of national and local justice issues.
Marina is the program director for the Legal Orientation Program (LOP) at the Center on Immigration and Justice. She joined Vera in November 2011 and provides technical assistance to a national network of legal service providers in the form of on-site training programs, topical conference calls, and site visits. She also develops and reviews legal orientation materials in English and Spanish. Since 2013, she has been involved in the launch and implementation of the New York Immigrant Family Unity Program (NYIFUP), assisting in program administration and data collection efforts. During law school, Marina was a student attorney for the University of St. Thomas Immigration Law Clinic, a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a summer associate at Stinson, Leonard, Street LLP. She earned her JD from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and a BA in political science and international studies from the University of Richmond.
